1. The Nativity of the Virgin on Monday, September 8 (repeated on the Old Style on September 21). Vespers on the Eve, September 7 at 2pm following Sunday Coffee Hour, Matins on Monday, September 8 at 9am, followed by the Liturgy at 10am.

   
   

1. Exultation of the Holy Cross on Sunday, September 14 (repeated on the Old Style on Sat. September 27). Vespers on the Eve, Saturday September 13 at 6pm. Matins on Sunday, September 14 at 8:30am, Liturgy at 10am. It is the custom of our Church to decorate and process with the Cross in the Church to the middle of the Church on this day.

   
   

 

A
BOLD MOVE TO CONTINUE

At the Special Parish Meeting held after Liturgy on Sunday, February 17, upon hearing the overview of monies received and spent for the building project and the beautification of our new cathedral church, the cathedral members present voted to continue the second phase of iconography which should take place in the October/November timeframe of 2008. About $90,000 is what will be needed for this phase which will pretty much complete the Altar area, the four corners (squinches) and front pillars within the church nave. I am well pleased that our parishioners have given their blessing to continue the project. It shows a love and respect for God’s Temple, as well as a sense of excitement in watching this truly beautiful iconography unfold.

I wish to thank the parishioners who attended the meeting for their participation. Thanks are also in store to the members of the parish board who all gave input to help prepare for the meeting. The Lord has indeed blessed our parish.
